Use Case

For manufacturers who treat part revisions as interchangeable, it is crucial to reference the most recently released parts in their mBOMs. This ensures that production and planning are aligned with the latest versions. This automation facilitates this process by:

1. Updating the most recently released mBOMs with newly revised parts. (See flow below)

2. Updating any draft mBOMs an ME may be working on.

Additionally, if enabled through a toggle during setup, the automation will also update your autoplan inputs to reflect the newly revised parts.

mBOM State Notes

When deploying this automation, consider the following scenarios related to mBOM states before the revision:

1. Draft mBOMs:

   • If the mBOM was in a draft state, the automation will update the existing mBOM and keep it in the draft state with the same revision.

2. Released mBOMs:

   • If the mBOM was in a released state, the automation will update to the latest released mBOM. The resulting mBOM will be a new revision and will be automatically released.

Step 1: General Integration Setup

• Follow the generic integrations and automations setup how-to page here. This helps establish your API credentials.

Step 2: Automation Specific Configuration

• For those individuals that are using Autoplan there is an important opt in opportunity to make sure this automation serves your demand planning needs.

• If the toggle is:

  • ON (Green): Plan Inputs will be updated to the latest revision.
  • OFF(Dark): Plan Inputs will not be updated to the latest revision.
