## Notifications

ION notifies you when something happens on an object you follow: a new comment, an `@`-mention, a status change, an approval or sign-off request, or an assignment. Every notification appears in your in-app inbox, and you also receive it by email if you [enable email notifications](https://docs.firstresonance.io/getting-started/ion-basics#account-switches).

To push notifications to external systems such as Slack or an ERP, use [Webhooks](https://docs.firstresonance.io/api-reference/guides/webhooks) to deliver ION events outside the app.
